This was the first time Jeff Fitchhorn and I played together on stage as rock and roll musicians (we both played in the marching band).

This was recorded at a variety show at my old junior high school (I had graduated the year before); both Jeff and Beth (the pianist) were graduating that year. I can't recall whether or not we played under the name of "Jinx" or not.

I was so nervous before we went one, that I sat back stage repeatedly playing the song over and over, successfully knocking the instrument completely out of tune. No matter, the student body loved us anyway, as evidenced by the short but sweet audience response at the end of the song.

When I asked Brett Juilly (the tape operator, whom you can hear laughing at the beginning of the recording) why he turned off the tape recorded as soon as we were done playing, he replied that he "didn't want to waste tape". Jealous bastard.

He soon replaced Beth as our keyboardist.
